Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Veira, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

2. The service

Veira provides point-of-sale software, inventory and reporting tools, payment facilitation, and optional KRA eTIMS compliance features for businesses in Kenya. Veira is a software provider — not a bank, payment institution, or tax agent.

3. Accounts and staff

  • You are responsible for keeping login credentials secure and for actions taken by staff you invite.
  • Roles (for example owner, manager, cashier) limit what each user can see and do inside your business.
  • You must provide accurate business details required for billing, support, and (when enabled) fiscal compliance.

4. Subscriptions and billing

  • Plans are billed in Kenyan Shillings (KES), monthly or annually in advance, as shown in the app.
  • Published prices: Starter, Growth, and Business (and any custom plan we agree with you in writing).
  • Annual plans are billed as published (typically equivalent to about 10× monthly — check the checkout screen).
  • Hardware bundled with a plan remains Veira property for the subscription term unless purchased separately.
  • Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are also governed by those stores' terms and billing.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription or as described on our cancellation page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period unless we agree otherwise in writing. See the cancellation page for store-specific steps and refunds.

6. KRA eTIMS and tax

When you connect eTIMS, Veira helps you submit fiscal data to KRA. You remain legally responsible for accurate tax reporting, PIN and device credentials, and any penalties arising from incorrect business data or misuse. Sandbox / test modes are not live KRA filing.

7. Payments and settlement

Customer payments (card, M-Pesa, and similar) are processed by third parties you configure (for example Paystack and Safaricom M-Pesa). Settlement is between you and those providers. Veira does not hold your customers' funds and does not store full card numbers on our servers.

8. Your data

Your catalog, sales, and customer records belong to your business. How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. After account closure, you may request export within 90 days where legally permitted. Fiscal records may be retained longer where tax law requires.

9. Acceptable use

  • No fraudulent transactions, money laundering, or chargeback abuse.
  • No sharing login credentials outside your authorised staff.
  • No misuse of KRA or payment-provider credentials.
  • No attempting to access another business's data or disrupt the service.
  • Violations may result in suspension or termination.

10. Service availability

We aim for reliable uptime and support offline-capable POS flows where designed. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be communicated when practical.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, Veira will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, lost sales, loss of goodwill, or business interruption. Veira's total liability arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the subscription fees actually received by Veira from you during the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes are subject to the courts of Nairobi.
